TATE Modern

On the 7th March I took a trip down to London to visit the TATE Modern. I hadn’t been to the Tate in a few years and after talking briefly about it in my CHC lecture, I really fancied popping down to see if I could gain any inspiration.
I really enjoyed my visit and I explored the Gabriel Orozco exhibition, In which I found very interesting. Orozco uses unpromising materials of every day life and transforms them, into something poignant, humorous or poetic, challenging us to question our received ideas about art and see the world afresh.
His photography struck me. I purchased his book.

Another exhibition the Tate has running at the moment was the “The Unilever Series: Ai Weiwei” called the ‘Sunflower Seeds’.
I found this amazing.
“Sunflower Seeds is made up of millions of small works, each apparently identical, but actually unique. However realistic they may seem, these life-sized sunflower seed husks are in fact intricately hand-crafted in porcelain.”
